The proposed 2019 election budget at 242.4bn, is greater than the combined budget of the ministry of agriculture (203bn), and the ministry for trade and investment(118bn). when the cost of elections DOUBLES the budget for trade and investment in a fiscal year.
The fact remains that the cost of our elections are too humongous for a frail country as Nigeria, coupled with the fact that the elections are still rigged. The cost of Nigerian general elections is not sustainable for national growth and development. We need sustainable and cost effective ways to still perform our CIVIC RIGHTS.
